CYPRUS INSULA – HISTORY, MEMORY, REALITY
The landmark exhibition of the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation (BoCCF) “Cyprus Insula – History, Memory, Reality” travels to Brussels in the context of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union, following an invitation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
An adapted version of the exhibition opens today at the European capital at the Gare Maritime venue, with an emphasis on the use of digital media. The digital exhibits are complemented by materials from BoCCF’s rich photographic and archival collections, as well as by works by Cypriot artists.
The exhibition unfolds in five acts, introducing visitors to the concept of Cypriotness by highlighting the elements that have shaped Cyprus’s enduringly unified cultural character, as well as the difficult years that have marked its recent history, conveying as its core message the non-negotiable unity of the island.
Through interactive and immersive experiences, the exhibition presents, in an engaging manner, Cyprus’s material culture and natural wealth, as well as the island’s multifaceted historical course, through narratives and paths addressed to audiences of all ages.
